Brett Buckner - don't you dare!

Hell No Brett Buckner!
By Lisa Clemons, Contributor to BPM

TO ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY IN THE 5TH WARD: A person by the name, Brett Buckner, announced that he is running for the 5th ward City Council seat... Please don't waste your vote!

I was a member of the Minneapolis NAACP in 2003-2004, When Rev. Al Gallmon was elected President and Brett Buckner was elected Vice President. They were both greedy thieves who robbed the black community.

DECIDE FOR YOURSELF:
RE: Al Gallmon- After resigning as President of the NAACP in 2003 under accusations from the membership that he was MISAPPROPRIATING FUNDS, In 2007 Startribune reported the following: “The Rev. Al Gallmon Jr., an influential Minneapolis pastor and civic leader for more than a decade, admitted that he used a church credit card to cover more than $18,500 in personal expenses and failed to promptly report more than $62,000 in over-compensation last year.” He was the pastor of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in north Minneapolis. Gallmon left Minnesota.

Men Who Cook - Minnesota Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority

The women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated-Delta Phi Omega Chapter invite you to participate in our Inaugural "Twin Cities' Men Who Cook" event.  This culinary adventure will be held Saturday, October 13, 2012, at 3pm at the Hallie Q. Brown Community Center in St. Paul, MN. Proceeds from the event will support the programs of  Delta Phi Omega Chapter.

Delta Phi Omega Chapter is committed to serving the community, and we would like to recognize men of the Twin Cities who share the same commitment.  "Twin Cities' Men Who Cook" is an opportunity to recognize the culinary talents of the men who serve in a variety of capacities, such as elected and appointed officials, police officers, firemen, etc.  This promises to be a lively and competitive afternoon, which will allow you to engage with members of the community and taste great food!

We are asking participants to prepare their favorite dish or dessert as a donation to be sampled by our guests.  As this is a sampling, we are asking each chef to prepare a dish for approximately 200 people.  We will supply paper goods and utensils. A panel of five judges will select the winners based on taste, originality and presentation of each dish.  Prizes will be awarded  for  First, Second and Third place.  Attendees will also choose the "People's Choice" winner.  All chefs will receive a certificate of participation.  Category winners receive a trophy and the overall winner will be recognized as the winner of the "2012 Twin Cities' Men Who Cook".  In addition to this trophy,  he will have bragging rights to the title.

We hope you will accept our invitation and participate in our inaugural event.  Chef slots are limited so reserve your spot early!   Indicate your interest by submitting the web based Chef Participation Form found at  www.akadpo.org.  There is a $50 REFUNDABLE entry fee.  Your entry is not complete until the fee is submitted.
